Three things define what a pet CBD oil is:
Hemp-derived CBD — the cannabidiol comes from hemp, a Cannabis sativa L. plant bred to stay below the legal THC threshold. Hemp is botanically the same species as high-THC cannabis but grown and processed differently. The CBD extracted from it is the same compound regardless of the finished product's intended user.
A pet-appropriate carrier — almost always MCT oil (medium-chain triglycerides, coconut-derived). The carrier is what the CBD is dissolved in; it also carries the product's flavour profile and texture.
An animal-calibrated concentration — this is the main formulation difference. A pet CBD oil sets its mg-per-millilitre figure and its serving-size guidance around animal physiology, not human adult physiology. Our pet oil contains 2000mg of CBD in 50ml — 40mg per millilitre — with label guidance for animal serving sizes. A human oil with 1000mg in 50ml has half that concentration per millilitre, with serving guidance for adults.
Our pet CBD oil is also formulated to be THC-free. Hemp-derived CBD naturally contains trace amounts of THC from the plant, and in a full-spectrum human oil that trace is kept under 0.3% and stated on the label. In the pet formulation, the THC is removed during processing, and the finished oil contains no detectable THC — confirmed by third-party batch testing.
So in plain terms: CBD oil for pets is hemp CBD in MCT, calibrated for animals, with no THC.
CBD oil for dogs vs CBD oil for humans
The most-searched version of pet CBD oil in Australia is CBD oil for dogs, and it is worth being clear on how dog CBD oil differs from the human-grade oils we also carry.
The compound — hemp-derived cannabidiol — is the same in both. What differs is the formulation:
Concentration: Our 1000mg full-spectrum CBD oil for humans is 20mg/ml in a 50ml bottle. Our pet oil is 40mg/ml in the same 50ml format, but the label's serving guide is for a dog weighing in kilograms rather than for an adult human. The absolute concentration per millilitre is higher in the pet oil, but the intended per-serving quantity is much smaller.
THC status: Our human full-spectrum oil carries a legal trace of THC under 0.3%. Our pet oil is THC-free — a deliberate formulation decision, not a variation of the same product.
Serving guidance: A human CBD oil label specifies a serving for an adult. A pet CBD oil label specifies a serving sized for an animal, typically referencing body weight. These serving guides are not interchangeable; using human serving guidance for an animal, or vice versa, is not appropriate.

CBD oil for cats too?
Pet CBD oil as a category covers cats and other companion animals, not only dogs. Our pet formulation is labelled for animal use and is appropriate for cats as well as dogs where the serving size is adjusted for the animal's weight.
The composition is the same regardless of species: hemp-derived CBD, MCT carrier, THC-free. How to read the label — mg, mL, and THC confirmation
Reading a pet CBD oil label is the same process as reading a human CBD oil label, with the addition of an animal-specific serving guide. Here is what to look for:
Total CBD (mg) — the cannabinoid content in the whole bottle. Our pet oil is 2000mg.
Volume (mL) — our bottle is 50ml. Divide total mg by volume to get concentration per millilitre: 2000 ÷ 50 = 40mg/ml.
THC status — our label reads "THC-free" and the batch Certificate of Analysis confirms no detectable THC. For comparison, a full-spectrum human oil would show "trace THC under 0.3%"; our pet oil does not.
COA and batch number — every batch has its own COA from a third-party laboratory. Email [email protected] with your batch number to request it. The COA will show cannabinoid content, THC status, and any contaminant screening results.
